Looking back at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2024: Highlights
The 6G-XR project proudly showcased its innovations at the EuCNC & 6G Summit held from June 3-6, 2024, at the Flanders Meeting & Convention Center in Antwerp, Belgium. This conference, renowned for bringing together experts and cutting-edge research in telecommunications, provided an invaluable platform for 6G-XR to highlight its advancements and foster collaborations.
At the event, 6G-XR presented a Co-Creative Cyber Studio utilizing a sliced 5G O-RAN network. This impressive demonstration was a collaborative effort, combining the expertise of the University of Oulu’s 6G Flagship and three standout projects from the 6G-XR Open Call 1: 6G-Slice (by Allbesmart), Faladin (by Finwe), and BANQ (by Kaitotek). The interactive and collaborative display featured state-of-the-art and beyond hardware and software, showcasing a multi-sliced 5G network equipped with a RAN intelligent controller, spatial computing and virtual reality headsets, and a completely passive professional network measurement system.
Moreover, Jussi Haapola represented the 6G-XR project at the “Strengthening EU-US Cooperation in Experimental Infrastructures Towards 6G” workshop, underscoring the project’s commitment to international collaboration and innovation.
Attending the EuCNC & 6G Summit has greatly benefited the 6G-XR project by providing a stage to demonstrate its groundbreaking work, engage with industry leaders, and forge new partnerships essential for driving the future of 6G technology. More extensive information and video content on the awarded projects of Open Call 1 will appear on this website in the following weeks so stay tuned!
