SUMMARY:one6G - Open Lecture 7
DESCRIPTION:Open Lecture 7 – In-Network Computing and Intelligent User Plane for 6G\n\n\n\nOpen Lecture 7 will take place on March 21\, 2024\, at 14h00 CET\, covering the subject of In-Network Computing and Intelligent User Plane for 6G. \n\n\n\nAfter mobile edge computing\, the next evolutionary step on the pathway to bring computation even closer to the user is to compute in the network. In-Network Computing (INC) is a promising enabler for 6G with high potential to support meeting the stringent delay requirements of 6G use-cases and applications\, including robotics\, VR gaming\, or remote surgery. Besides latency reduction\, the concept of INC has been proven beneficial for network traffic volume reduction and offloading compute tasks from mobile end-devices to the network. This allows to minimize the devices’ battery drainage and supports the design of more lightweight devices. \n\n\n\nThe one6G Open Lecture 7 will center around the topic of In-Network Computing and Intelligent User Plane for 6G. Four top experts in the field\, representing both academia and industry\, will discuss the state of the art of INC\, including architecture concepts\, current challenges\, and recent advances when it comes to integrating native computing as a key feature into 6G networks.

SUMMARY:Fourth Visions for Future Communications Summit
DESCRIPTION:Vision of Future Communications Summit is a top-quality research workshop\, with the support of IEEE\, oriented to identify key research areas in information and communication technologies in the mid-future of 7 to 10 years. It will follow from the previous event held in 2017\, 2019\, and 2021\, considering that by 2030 6G will be reaching the market. Given the expected innovation cycle times\, it is now appropriate that we start discussions on Innovations after 6G. \n\n\n\nThe Summit will cover multiple research lines\, roughly structured along Physical Layer\, Network and Control Plane\, and Applications and Services. Each research line will have a keynote speaker\, and a set of sessions. All sessions will be organized as panels of distinguished speakers from academia\, industry and High-level European Commission officials presenting their viewpoints on a subarea within each track. Panels will be oriented to encourage interaction among the panelists and between the panelists and the audience. \n\n\n\nThe event is organised by NetworldEurope with the support of 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA)\, SNS-OPS\, European Commission and IEEE. \n\n\n\nFind out more on the event website.

SUMMARY:IEEE ITSC 2023
DESCRIPTION:The 26th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC 2023) is the annual flagship conference sponsored by the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society. IEEE ITSC 2023 welcomes articles and presentations in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems\, conveying new developments in theory\, analytical and numerical simulation and modeling\, experimentation\, advanced deployment and case studies. ITSC 2023 particularly invites and encourages prospective authors to share their work\, findings\, perspectives and developments as related to implementation and deployment of advanced ITS applications. \n\n\n\nThe ITSC 2023 conference will be held at the Euskalduna Conference Centre located in the center of Bilbao\, Bizkaia\, Spain. \n\n\n\n\n\nOur consortium partner Vicomtech is organising a Special Session about “Leveraging Data in Connected\, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) enabled by Edge and Cloud” in the IEEE ITS Conference 2023. \n\n\n\nThis Special Session will explore the challenges to leverage data in CCAM and the role of Edge and Cloud as key enabling technologies. More specifically\, it will focus on how to capture\, structure\, index\, store and share data to enable analytical systems to get valuable insights; how to balance processing workload and assets in distributed infrastructures efficiently; how to transmit data efficiently and reliably; and how to address security and privacy issues. We aim to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote collaboration to find novel solutions to these problems. By understanding the barriers and solutions to leverage data in CCAM\, we can help pave the way for a safer and more efficient transportation system. \n\n\n\nMore information can be found here.
